Knockshanahullion is a Hewitt of 653.3 m in Tipperary. All four of its nearest neighbours are higher, up to Galtymore at 917.9 m.
It sits below Knockmealdown, only 6.2 km to the east and 139.1 m higher. It is the lowest of the five register hills in the Knockmealdown, Comeragh and Monavullagh Mountains region, where Knockmealdown is highest. On the Hewitts height ladder it sits between Muckanaght (655 m) and Harter Fell (Eskdale) (653.2 m). Its nearest higher summit, Sugarloaf Hill (662.7 m, 4.0 km east), is a listed top not profiled here.
