Great Gable is a Lake District fell of 898.8 m in Cumberland. Only six of the register's England hills are higher.
Its drop is the 6th greatest among the Wainwrights, behind Scafell Pike at the top. It counts towards four lists: Wainwrights, Hewitts, Nuttalls and Marilyns. It overtops all four of its nearest neighbours; the tallest of them, Kirk Fell, reaches 802 m. It is one of the 39 Wainwrights that are also Marilyns. Green Gable stands only 0.5 km to the north-east. It is 263.5 m above the average height of the 114 register hills in Cumberland. The highest point is recorded as rock, not a cairn. It falls on two OS 1:50,000 sheets, 89 and 90.
