Sour Howes is a Lake District fell of 483 m in Westmorland and Furness. It rises only 35 m above its key col, 7.2% of its height.
Its key col leads to High Street, not to its nearest higher summit, Sallows. All four of its nearest neighbours lie to the north, so it stands at the southern edge of its group. It shares its height of 483 m with Longlands Fell. On the Wainwrights height ladder it sits between Longlands Fell (483 m) and Gowbarrow Fell (Wainwright summit) (481.2 m). The highest point is recorded as grassy hummock, not a cairn.
